Hi All,
I started Underwater People because I love The Samples music, and I see and feel the energy and love of their fans at every show. I wanted a place where we can focus that energy and share not only what we love about the music and the band, but also what we love about life.

I went to my first Samples show in 1994 (I think...my freshman year in college was a pretty hazy time), and I danced my ass off. I live in Seattle, and we only get to see live shows about once a year. The Samples' music has been with me through all kinds of good and bad. My wife and I danced to "When The Day Is Done" at our wedding. "Feel Us Shaking" was the first song I learned to play and sing at the same time. "Walking Through The Snow" has carried me through several wet Northwest winters.

I've put a fair amount of work into getting the site going, but I want it to become a place where everyone helps out. I know most people aren't used to web sites that they can contribute to. Up till now, the web has been a place where you go to get information, not give it. Well those days are over. The web is in your hands. Underwater People is in your hands.

I've never known a Samples fan to shy away from helping out or speaking their mind. So, stop lurking. Get helping.

Peace & Love,
Ben

disclaimer: I am a programmer for Wetpaint. I started this site as not only an outlet for my admiration of The Samples music and fans, but also a personal wiki community experiment. Nothing official Wetpaint here.

p.s. If you're wondering what my picture is, it's me playing guitar around the campfire at Yellowstone.

p.p.s. No one makes any money from Underwater People, so don't worry, you're not selling out. This is a pure labor of love.

Updated 3/23: Been super busy working on improving Wetpaint. Lots of feedback from you folks and other communities. If you have ideas about improving Wetpaint, put them here.
Things look and feel beautiful. Good work, all. Now it's time for me to put a bit of work back into Underwater People myself.

Come see me on last.fm.

Here's what I'm listening to right now on last.fm (OK, so the only scrobbling I do is from a computer with a young music collection );

Hello BennyFlint,
I'm in the process of looking for some informational wiki sites. I took a look around your wiki site today and I'm impressed with the great level of information you have on this band!

Here's why I'm on the hunt for helpful wikis: We've recently started a new wiki to help advertise wetpaint wikis across the board. It's going to be in a "classified ads" format.
The good folks at the WetpaintCentral site will be helping us market the site very soon. But at this time we are still tweaking out the submission process. We are inviting a few ~active~ wiki sites to jump on board now to help us work out those issues.

Would welcome your input if you are interested. The site addy is: http://drypaintads.wetpaint.com
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

tried to add songs under the "no room" link for albums. was concerned when it added a new page under the helping out section - (i think) - ?
and template for new album content wasn't available.
i put in the songs - and hope you can flesh it out from here.
hope my changes aren't too hard to follow!
thanks!

Thanks for the welcome!
I was up late and googled the band to see if there was any recent news and came across this page - - so I stepped in. I was so excited to find it! My love for the band spans over a decade now, and throughout the years I have seen this band play more times than I can remember. My first show was in the early 90s, back in my college days - my most recent was just two months ago - and I'm sure there will be plenty more to come!

This site is great and I'm thrilled to see a unique outlet for fans. (By the way, I remember the old Underwater People page - back when the internet was just a baby.)

Thanks!
