Brave attempt at starting this is found as a sub-page, "Chords," under "The Songs" in the nav window: (I moved the page around before sticking it under "The Songs" catgegory just to get it started.) Right now chords and tablature are both under the "chords" page.
(I was a bit out of my element with this one.) |

Howdy all!
I just removed a few of the things on this site ideas list that everyone had either finished, or we've done the majority fo work that can be done on them. But I also wanted to say to anyone at all (of course) that's a member please feel free to add some ideas here, or just maybe add a post mentioning your ideas, and we can all talk about/work on them. I love seeing this site grow:) Nick

It seems as though it might be a nice idea...and responsible idea...to invite those of us who have been a part of the Underwater People message board/user group to the website. There are many of us who have been around for 10+ years and it's a bit ridiculous to hear about this through the Samples Myspace page. I've been doing this shit for 12 years and I find it a bit lazy and incredulous that those of us who have supported the band for this long and through its various incarnations are relegated to a Myspace bulletin post to find out about this. I simply would encourage the owners of this site to be more responsible and aware of the people who really started this group (I'm not one...just happened to join somewhat early on) and take a more formal role in inviting the lifetime supporters to this venue. I know it makes me sound like a relic but it's disappointing to not be formally invited after 14+ years of hanging posters, doing road trips, calling radio stations, talking to local print sources, and collaborating with other UP user group members. Anyway...sorry to be such a lame-ass bitch. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Hasta.

So many awesome photos - we filled up the tempate! I added an extra row - but I was curious about how to proceed: Should we continue to add rows? Create new pages (page1, page2, etc. - as submenus for the photos page?) Or perhaps categorize the page by creating subpages for groups of photos from particular shows (i.e., a link to a page for photos from the Sullivan's Isle show, another link for photos from Pickle Barrel)??? Any ideas?

Not sure if this has already been mentioned here, but Sean Kelly has posted lots of Samples videos (concerts, interviews, old stuff, new stuff) on the Sean Kelly You Tube space at http://www.youtube.com/thesamples
Note: Go to SeanKelly205 when you get there, to see the full list of Samples videos. |

Right now it's not very easy to find a particular show by date. The shows are listed alphabetically by date, but the date format has the month of the show before the year. Perhaps changing the date format to put the year first would help to present the index of shows more chronologically. I noticed this because I have a small collectiton of old Samples memorabilia (ticket stubs, tour schedules, old field staff letters, stickers, etc.) and have no idea what to do with them other than keep them in my scrap book. I was looking to see if anyone had posted a set list - no luck (yet) for the dates I was looking for. I'd love to share but am not sure where to post the images. Any ideas?

| uro55 | A "The Music" idea | 0 | Jan 16 2007, 4:08 PM EST by uro55 | |||

Just had this idea as I was listening to an older Samples show from 94. And I thought one kind of cool idea for when there is a "The Music" page, would be like a download of the day/week/month or whatever. Where someone could post a download of a favorite live track of their's. And maybe why they like it? Or some sort of variation on that idea.

I actually have one idea that could help/lead to getting a link on the bands official page. I e-mail back and forth with Dan from time to time. And I actually have to e-mail him something this weekend, and I was thinking about mentioning the site, and that he should check it out. But I wanted to run it by people first to see what you think? Any input?

Hey one idea I had that I'm not sure if anyone knows about, and I figured people would really enjoy is live Samples shows to download. There is a web-site called archive.org that has hundred of bands, and thousands of live shows available to listen to streaming, or to download. And they have about 40 or so Samples shows. About 20 of which you can listen to streaming, and all of them to download. I've found it awesome to listen to/use at work. And I've dowloaded about 20 to my iPod. Here is a link direct to their stuff. http://www.archive.org/details/TheSamples
I would have started a page somewhere for it, but I was not sure of the best place. Nick
