Hello all! First of all sorry for not being around the past few months. With work being crazy, and summer, and traveling etc. I just haven't had much time, although I feel bad about it! I need to get back to helping with the site and spreading the music:)
But on a vry exciting note, we here in Minnesota have two Samples shows this week after a more then year gap. And I for one could not be more excited!!!!! So if anyone here is from, or is going to be in the Minneapolis area for the shows, write a message or drop a line etc. It would be great to meet some of y'all! CANT WAIT FOR THE SHOWS! Nick

I'm going to see the band at least three times in the next few months and would love to download the shows to archive.org (and on here) but I've never recorded a show before. What would I need to do so?

Wow! What a great show. Set list was nearly identical to the previous nights show and they had the same set-up: simple jazz style drum kit, bass, and Sean on acustic. The Newport Blues Cafe was really electric, the crowd was really into the show. It was a very intimate setting and the band was diggin' that vibe. The show was just a few minutes short of two hours! Awesome. They played a hearfelt dedication in memory of the victims of The Station fire, as I think it was the 4th anniversary. Very sobering but it was cool that they recognized it.
1. The Streets in the Rain 2. Buffalo Herds and Windmills 3. Seany Boy 4. Moves me lika A River 5. Indiana 6. Little Silver Ring 7. Lear Jet 8. Sacred Stone 9. Too Many Nevers 10. Nature 11. Station Fire Dedication 12. My Town 13. As A Moon Falls Over Ireland 14. Did You Ever Look So Nice (w/ a great drum solo, then a bass solo, giving way to a nice jam) 15. For All The World To See (? not sure of title) .... encore... 16. Nothing Lasts for Long Sean repeatedly said how great the show sounded to him thru the monitors up on stage, and I have to agree that the sound was really good.

Hey all. I have about 8 shows on audio tape that I'm looking to sell. Some are first generation copies, some are second, some are third. I'd like to just sell them all as a set. Highest bidder get them.

I'm not a professional reviewer but here's my take on last night's show.
Venue was a place called Chicky's an sort of upscale place with a small stage. People seated at tables no real room for dancing. Felt like a cabaret set up Sean played the acoustic all night, Jared on bass and Bill drummed but not with the entire drum set. Show felt like an "Unplugged". That being said, as usual the show was amazing. Sean's vocals were great and the guitar playing was first rate. I brought two people who didn't really know the Samples and left as two new fans..as always, gotta see them live. I counted about seventy people at the show but again, it was a sit down affair and every table/seat at the bar was taken. Here's the set list from my beer-stained napkin. Streets in the Rain Buffalo Herds and Windmills Seany boy Moves me like a river Indiana Little Silver Ring Lear jet Sacred stones Nevers My Town Moon falls over Ireland - quickly becoming one of my favorites Didja ever look so nice Find the cost of freedom (CSNY cover, Sean solo) Nothing lasts for long (Sean solo) Taxi Weight of the world (with the Smells Like Teen spirit lyrics in there) Break Could it be another change Feel us shakin Hope to see a review from Newport after the show.
